Joan B. Carnevale Petrarca, 76, of Swarthmore died January 4, 2021 at her home.  She was born in Inwood, NY, and grew up in Cedarhurst, NY. She was the daughter of the late William and Phyllis Mazzuca Carnevale and resided in Ridley Park before moving to her late residence in 1974.

Joan was a graduate of St. Joseph's Mountain School, Monticello NY, class of 1963 and was employed as a Secretary to the Rabbi and Assistant to the Principal at Congregation Beth El Ner Tamid.  She previously worked as the Supervisor of the Trust Docket Department at Fidelity Bank.  Joan enjoyed baking, knitting and donating to needy people, but most important was her home and family.

Joan's Christmas cookies were outstanding and she enjoyed giving them to family and friends.

She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Prosceno.

Joan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph C. Petrarca; her children, Laura Abel and Joseph Petrarca (Amanda); her sister, Phyllis Flynn; and her grandchildren, Eddie Abel and Angelina Petrarca.

Due to COVID-19, services and burial will be private.
