Joan D. Sybist Erieg, 86, of Rehoboth Beach, DE died July 3, 2020, as a result of an auto accident, at Beebe Medical Center.  Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Backius Sybist and resided in Darby before moving to her late residence 27 years ago.

Joan was employed by Chilton Industries as a Proof Reader.  She enjoyed going to her senior group, playing cards, the Delaware beaches, boating and fishing, but most important was her family.

Joan is predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Elmer W. "El" Erieg, Jr., who died November 14, 2013.

She was the mother of Raymond W. Erieg (Maryann) and Robert A. Erieg (Lorraine); also, survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Due to the Coronavirus 19 Pandemic, services and burial will be private.
