Joan A. Eichinger (Reese), 82 of Aston, died peacefully on September 20, 2013 at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Philadelphia and reared in Ridley Township, Joan lived in Crum Lynne before moving to Aston 58 years ago.
Joan was a graduate of Ridley Township High School, class of 1948, and was employed at Widener University for over 30 years.
Joan was a member of The Church of St. Joseph, the Aston Seniors and a volunteer at the Aston Library and also Meals on Wheels for many years.
Joan was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and attended all Widener sporting events. She loved to read and enjoyed spending her summers in Sea Isle City. Most important to her was her love and devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staffs at Crozer Chester Medical Center and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Joan was daughter of the late Walter F. and M. Dorothy Reese and sister of the late Dorothy B. Reese, Phd.
Survivors: her loving husband of 61 years, Joseph T. Eichinger, Jr; her children Michael J. Eichinger (Jeanne), William J. Eichinger (Ruth), Jean M. Angerstein (Russell) and Joanne Eichinger; brother William Reese (Rose); her grandchildren Danielle, Michael, Jennifer, Jimmy, Jason, Lyndsay, Jenna, Eric and Risa; also great grandchildren Bryan, Shane, Morgan and Rachel.
Visitation 7:00 to 9:00PM Wednesday and 8:30 to 9:15AM Thursday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston.
Funeral Mass 10:00AM Thursday, September 26, 2013 at The Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Rd., Aston.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
