Joan M. Doubet, nee Adair, 64, of Newark, DE passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2022.
Born in Kearny, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Adair, nee Dyer.
Joan, fondly known as Jo, lived for many years in Andover, NJ before moving to Delaware three years ago.
Jo was a 1975 graduate of Our Lady Queen of Peace, North Arlington, NJ. She went on to attend the Berkeley School of Business. That same year, she was crowned Miss Stillwater.
She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Newark, as well as a member of Our Lady of the Lake in Sparta, NJ where she sang in the church choir.
Jo started her career as a fashion merchandise buyer for Sheppard's Department Store. For many years, she worked for Carl A. Doubet Jewelers as a sales associate and was most recently employed by Gabe's in Newark as a customer service specialist.
Jo was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, playing cards and doing puzzles. She excelled at refinishing old furniture pieces, and had a good eye for it. She was also an ardent fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jo loved the beach and thoroughly enjoyed her times in Barnegat Light on Long Beach Island.
Her love for the Doubet and Adair families was unbounded. She delighted in family gatherings and reunions.
In addition to her parents, Jo was predeceased by her sister Lorraine and her two brother-in-laws, Kevin Burns and John Greulich.
Jo is survived by her husband of 39 years, Carl. She is also survived by her sisters, Cathi and Sharon, as well as her nieces Brittany (Mike) and Caitlyn (Robbie), and her grandniece Autumn Rose and grandnephew Ben.
Additionally, she is survived by her sister-in-laws Marybeth, Megan, Kristin and Monique and her brother-in-laws Ernie and Kelly, and her nieces Elise and Madeleine, and nephew Jack, and the extended Doubet and Adair Families.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave. Ridley Park, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Jo's name, to The American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, suite 2820, Philadelphia PA 19103.
