Jerry Wayne Dement, Jr., 59 of Aston died on September 7, 2024 at his home. Born in Chester and raised in Aston, the son of the late Jerry Wayne Dement and Nancy Jane Schwartz Dement Nastasi, he lived in Penns Grove and Carney Point, NJ before returning to live in Aston in 1980.
Jerry was a graduate of Sun Valley High School, class of 1985 where he was a member of the ROTC and played drums in the school band. He was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor at B'nai B'rith Apartments and had previously worked for Clover Leaf Auto Services and Powell Landscaping. He along with his brother, son and nephew enjoyed many hours plinking at the firing range. Jerry was a talented drummer and bass player, he played in several local bands in Delaware County and New Jersey. He enjoyed heavy metal and progressive rock music and was also an artist, he enjoyed painting in acrylic, oils and water colors. The most important part of Jerry's life was his family, he was the best dad, uncle (like a dad or pop-pop), brother and brother-in-law.
He was the father of Jerry Wayne Dement, III and the late Samantha N. Dement, brother of Charles "Jeff" Jefferson Dement (Patricia) and Jerry Lee Dement, uncle of Sara Van Neerdan (Chris), Amanda Moyer (Matt) and Jeffery A. Dement (Rachel), great-uncle of Charlotte, Madison, Haley and Christopher, he is also survived by his former wife Tammy Mills Dement Saul.
Services and burial will be held privately.
