Jeanne G. Cole, 74 of Media died on February 12, 2026. Born in Rockville Centre, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Gramer, she had lived for many years in Ridley Park before recently moving to Media.
Jeanne was a graduate of Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, NY, class of 1969, and continued her education, receiving a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York in Albany, a master's degree from Syracuse University and her doctorate in education from The University of Calgary.
Before retiring in 2020, Jeanne was employed as the Assistant Dean of Continuing Medical Education at Thomas Jefferson University, having worked there since 1997. She was instrumental in conceiving and building an innovative and highly effective consortium of medical schools in Pennsylvania (unique in the nation), called CACME, the Consortium of Academic Continuing Medical Education. In the earlier years of her career, she had worked at A.I. Dupont Nemours Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and was a teacher in the Upper Darby School District. Jeanne enjoyed playing Quizzo, and after her retirement developed a talent for painting with watercolors and began taking yoga classes.
Jeanne loved the neighborhood feel and sense of community after moving into Springton Lake Village seven months ago. During that time, she joined the Marketing Committee and helped organize a successful collection of food for the Delaware County Food Drive during the Thanksgiving season.
Jeanne is survived by her husband of 48 years, John D. Cole, her siblings Judith Chrysanthis (late Elias), Joan Gramer Goodstadt (Joel) and Joseph Gramer (Mary Grace), her sister-in-law Judith Cole (late Peter Piotrowicz), her brother-in-law William Cole and her cousin-in-law Joan Crouse (Jesse).
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or at American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
