Jean Evarts Pharaoh 94, also known to many as Nana, a longtime resident of Brookhaven, died May 8, 2020. Born in Ridley Park, Jean was the daughter of the late Evan and Hazel Peckham Simpson.
Jean was a graduate of Media High School and was a member of the First Church of God in Brookhaven. She worked in customer service at Swan Cleaners in Springfield and previously was employed at Boeing Company.
Jean loved Tom Jones restaurant and her home in Rehoboth Beach, and spending time with her late daughter, Irene, shopping and visiting restaurants.
She was the wife of the late Edward S. Pharaoh, her husband of 37 years, who died in 1979; mother of the late Irene Zdana and Warren E. Pharaoh Sr. and grandmother of the late Ronald and Jason Pharaoh.
Jean is survived by her sons, Robert E. Pharaoh and Joseph M. Pharaoh (Lisa); also, her grandchildren, Donald, Sandra, Warren Jr., John H., Eric, Joseph E., Christopher and Ryan; 13 great grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
