James R. "Jace" McLaughlin, 81 of Wilmington, formerly of Ridley Park died on March 6, 2023 at his home.  Born in Ridley Park, he was the son of the late David U. and Margaret May McLaughlin, he lived in Ridley Park for 57 years before moving to Wilmington one year ago.

Jace was a graduate of Interboro High School, class of 1958 where he played football and was awarded All-Delco honors.  He served in the Army Reserves for six years.  He was employed as a salesman at SouthCo. Inc and C&S Battery, and more recently as a custodian at Ridley High School, before retiring in 2015.  Jace loved golfing and also enjoyed going fishing and crabbing.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Georgina "Gina" Kilgore McLaughlin, his daughters Nancy L. McLaughlin (Larry) and Dana A. Cooke (Daniel), his grandchildren Morgan McLaughlin, Larry McLaughlin (Kelly), Shannon McLaughlin, Michael Cooke (Liz) and Lauryn Elder (Nate), his great grandchildren Carmen Mollichella and Liam Cooke, he was also the brother of the late David McLaughlin, Dan McLaughlin, Elizabeth Patterson and Frank McLaughlin.

Funeral Service 11 AM, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM.  Burial private.
