Obituary

James P. Nasella, Sr., 92 of Ridley Park died on August 6, 2023 at the Community Living Center in Philadelphia.  Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Modesto and Anna Pisillo Nasella, he lived in Southwest Philadelphia before moving to Ridley Park in 1955.
James a graduate of John Bartram High School where he was a four-year soccer standout.  He was a proud veteran of the US Army who served during the Korean War, and also served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.  He owned and operated Nasella Plumbing for 31 years before retiring in 2014.  James was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and was the former Vice President of the Ridley Park Seniors.  He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially of the Phillies.  James enjoyed woodworking, birdwatching, and cooking but most important was his family.
He was the loving husband of the late Gladys T. Falcone Nasella, father of Susan A. Miller (Robert), James P. Nasella, Jr. (Carole), Paul J. Nasella, Sr. (Barbara), Ann Demkin (late Stephen) and Steven P. Nasella (Maryann), brother of Elizabeth DiCrecchio (Ray), William Nasella, Nancy Baurch and the late Ann Donohue, grandfather of the late Laura Jean Miller, and is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Thursday, August 10, 2023 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:45 AM.  Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
