Obituary

James J. "Jim" Hurley, 87, of Ridley Park died January 24, 2015 at Taylor Hospice Residence. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a resident of Ridley Park for 57 years. Jim was employed by Westinghouse for 35 years until his retirement in 1985. Upon retirement, Jim delivered the USA Today and worked for the Main Line Times.

He was a veteran of the US Army and Merchant Marines and served during WWII. Jim was an active member of the Church of St. Madeline and the School House Senior Center. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #210 in Crum Lynne. Jim enjoyed fishing, watching Jeopardy and reading the newspaper.

Jim was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Jane C. Carroll Hurley, who died in 1998; his parents, Frank and Mary Burke Hurley and his sisters, Rita Hurley and Ann Galligan.

Survivors: father of James J. Hurley, Jr. (Dot), Margie McGoldrick (Joe), Jane Johnson (John), Carol Sharp & Brian Hurley; brother of Mary McGarvey; also survived by six grandchildren.

Funeral Mass: 10 AM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park.

Visitation: 8:15-9:15 AM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
