James L. Jillson, 78, of Ridley Park died October 20, 2016 peacefully at his home. Born in Folsom, he was the son of the late Lester Howard and Anna Martha Fleming Jillson and a lifelong resident of Delaware County.
Jim was a graduate of Ridley Township High School, class of 1955. He earned an Associate's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business. Jim also attended the University of Virginia School of Banking where he wrote his Thesis on Automated Teller Machines. Jim was last employed by Commonwealth Bank as Vice President of Lending before retiring in 2001. He previously worked for Del. Co. National Bank, SNB and Elmwood Savings Bank with a 42 years banking career.
Jim was a member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the School House Seniors and a former member of the Prospect Park Lodge #578 F. & A.M. Jim was a founding member of the Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Del. Valley, now known as Clarifi. He was an avid Eagles fan, loved American History, traveling the world, antiques/auctions, gardening, cars and building model train sets. Most of all, Jim loved his family.
Jim was predeceased by his late wife, Victoria Roberts Jillson.
Survivors: father of Cathleen "Kirby" Jillson and Wendy Ann Kane (Joseph); grandfather of Christina, Ryan, Vincent and Ava; brother of William H. Jillson; and uncle of Dave Jillson
