James M. Hughes

James M. Hughes, 77 of Aston died on July 4, 2026 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Darby, the son of the late James J. and Marie E. Schilling Hughes, he lived in Springfield and Secane before moving to Aston 40 years ago.

James was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, class of 1967 and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He had been employed as a Bus Driver in the Garnet Valley School District and had previously worked for Amtrak. James enjoyed working on cars and loved his dogs Max, Tootsie and Gracie. He was the loving husband of the late Denise M. Schreiner Hughes, father of Zachary Litzinger and he was the grandfather of Ayla Litzinger.
