James D. Hanna (Jim, JD), 69 of Williamstown, NJ died on April 10, 2022. Born in Chester, the son of the late James W. Hanna and Louise J. Duke Hanna-Decker, he lived in Ridley Park before moving to Williamstown 35 years ago.
A graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1971, Jim attended Penn State University and later turned to his first love of masonry and carpentry. He founded, owned, and operated American Craftsman, LLC, for nearly 40 years, applying his many talents to home renovations for hundreds of families throughout the region.
Jim was known as an adventurous, ambitious, free spirit. No matter what obstacles he faced in life, he did so with strength, conviction, and an authenticity that defined his unique personality and impacted everyone who knew him. Jim enjoyed many activities, among them working on his classic cars, riding his Harley, and playing pool. An athlete in his youth, he also enjoyed skiing, white water rafting, and playing with puppies, Remmy, Callie and Jetta. But spending time with his family and friends was what he valued most.
He is survived by his loving children, Michelle L. Podbielski (Rob), James A. Hanna (Kristin), Jeffrey Hanna (Michelle) and Meghan S. Hanna, also survived by thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his former wife Lynn Barber Craig.
