James F. Gane, Sr., 92, of Ridley Park died May 19, 2019 at his home. Born in Bryn Mawr, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Sarah Agnes Killeen Gane and resided in Media before moving to his late residence 65 years ago.

James was a decorated WWII Veteran who served as a Private First Class in the US Army from September 15, 1944 to July 1, 1946. He was stationed in Italy with the 225th QM Salvage Repair Co. and received the WWII Victory Ribbon, Army Occupation Medal (Italy), the American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. James was a member of the American Legion Post #945 and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was the Owner/Operator of the Ardmore Bicycle Shop from his return of his tour of duty in the late 1940's until he sold the business in the early 1980's. James then opened the Aston Bicycle Shop in the early 1980's until it's closing in the early 1990's. He last was employed by Toys R Us in Springfield before retiring. James was a member of the Church of St. Madeline and enjoyed bowling.

He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Mary Jane Woolford, who died January 13, 2019; his son, Kenneth J. Gane, who died in January 1984; and his brothers, Robert J. Gane, Jr. and LeRoy M. Gane.

James is survived by his children, James F. Gane, Jr. (Debbie), Edward J. Gane (Bonnie), Mary Sue DeGrave, Ronald J. Gane (Joan) and Robert A. Gane; his sisters, Helen Gane and Mary Jane Kelly (Jack); also, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and counting.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Church of Saint Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA 119078, where relatives and friends may call from 9:45-10:45 AM.
