Obituary

Iva M. Kornick (nee Harding), 94 of Ridley Park died June 15, 2015 at Manor Care at Wallingford. Born in Birmingham, AL she was a daughter of the late John and Lovie Cruce Harding. While serving in the US Army Air Corps during World War II she lived in the Tampa/Clearwater area, then moved to Chester in 1946 and has lived in Ridley Park since 1948.

Iva was last employed as a short order cook at Jack Denny's Pub in Upland and had previously worked as a cashier at Rite-Aid and Korvettes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to cook and entertain. Iva was a kind and generous woman with a great sense of humor, while not rich monetarily, she was wealthy in love of family and friendships.

She was the devoted wife of the late John H. Kornick who died April 4, 2007 after 62 years of marriage, grandmother of the late Jennifer M. Ladislaw and Andrea Cattie, also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors: loving mother to Ruth A. Kornick, Andrew J. Kornick (Karen), Barbara L. Cattie (Peter), Susan M. Ladislaw-Epright (Alan) and Kathleen A. Hopkins, also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service 10:30 AM Monday, June 20, 2016 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 9 AM. Burial Mount Hope Cemetery.
