Isabel R. Barker (nee Maculley), 97 of Secane died on September 22, 2024. Born in Chester, the daughter of George and Mary Maculley, she lived in Glenolden before moving to Secane in 1969,
Isabel was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1944 and was employed as a Sales Representative at Strawbridge and Clothier Department Stores for 30 years before retiring in 1991. She loved to bake cakes, cooking and making her potato salad for all of her family get togethers. She was also an avid reader, who especially enjoyed wellness books. She also loved her Manhattan's and shopping for a great bargain, but most important was her family, especially her cherished grand and great-grandchildren.
She was the loving wife of the late Joseph P. Barker, mother of Karen A. Murphy (James) and Donna M. Smith (George), sister of the late Richard Maculley, who was killed in action during World War II over the Netherlands, Raymond Maculley, Dorothy Smith and Robert Maculley, and is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service 11 AM Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
