Irene Frederick Manata, 85, of Holmes passed on to her eternal rest October 5, 2016 at the Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late John David and Lena Newby Frederick and resided in Chester before moving to her late residence in 1954.

Irene was the first female supervisor of the testing lab at Scott Paper Co., now Kimberly Clark. She loved to cook for the family and also enjoyed going out to restaurants but most important was her time with her family. "Rene" will be greatly missed and thought of as "One of a Kind" – Goodnight Irene.

Irene joined her beloved late husband, Michael G. Manata, who died March 12, 2007 after 55 years of marriage.

She is survived by her loving niece that she raised as a daughter, Patsy L. Bregensir; her nephew, John Frederick; her grandnieces, Michaelene and husband Victor, Florence and husband Michael; her great grand nieces, Brittany, Grace and Alexandria; her great grand nephews, Gary, Gabriel and Zachary; her beloved friends and confidents, Jane Nolan and Frieda Barnes; and her sister, Sue Carol and her brother, Robert, who she recently and happily was reunited.
