Irene E. Pattinson Murphy, 87, of Ridley Park passed away February 12, 2016 after a challenging illness. Born in Darby, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Helen Snyder Pattinson and lived in South Philadelphia before moving to her late residence 61 years ago.

Irene graduated from Darby High School, class of 1946. In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed at Central Penn National Bank prior to raising her family. Irene returned to work, at Data Documents, providing administration services.

An avid collector of antiques and collectables, Irene loved looking for treasures and her holiday decorations were always admired. She and her husband, Chris, enjoyed travel, the shore, vacations and boating. Irene spent time gardening, but most important was her devotion to her family and friends, who were her life. She would always provide support, encouragement, kind words and cards and never missed a birthday or special occasion. Irene had numerous very close friendships over the years. She cherished all these special people through the last days of her life.

Irene was the loving wife of the late Christopher J. Murphy, her husband of 55 years, who died December 15, 2002.

She was the mother of Christopher Murphy (Celena) and the late Patricia Murphy-Fowler (Geoff); grandmother of Michael Scheiblein (Jennifer), Christopher Saedlo and Danielle Saedlo; and great grandmother of Lucas Scheiblein. Irene leaves behind many nieces, nephews and their families, all of whom she cherished until the end. She also leaves behind the most loving, close friend/caretaker Marie Hill.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the White Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078 where friends may call after 10:00AM.

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
