Ina H. Clarke Jenrette, 92, of Chester died October 23, 2015 at home. Born in Nickerie, Dutch Guyana, she was daughter of the late Jonathan Eleazer and Ruth Elizabeth Trotman Clarke and lived in Chicago, IL before moving to her late residence.
Mrs. Jenrette graduated from St. Thomas High School, class of 1940 and the Worsham College of Mortuary Science. She was self-employed as a hairdresser, retiring in 1985, and previously worked for a metropolitan funeral home in Chicago.
Mrs. Jenrette was a former member of St Paul's P.E. Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved cooking and singing and was devoted to her home and family. Mrs. Jenrette was a foster parent from 1969-1981 and was a former president of the Parents of Children and Youth Services.
She was predeceased by her husband, William David Jenrette, DDS, who died in January 1984 and her siblings, Marjorie Clarke, Lily Sealey, Celest Christopher and Clifford H. Clarke
Mrs. Jenrette was mother of Gwenevere C. Jenrette and Aaron K. Jenrette; sister of Harold H. Clarke, Rotha A. Lynch and Ruby Britton; also grandmother of Jazmaine Brown and Dazhane Enoch.
Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 301 E. 9th Street, Chester where friends may call after 11:00 AM
