Obituary

Henry J. Votta, 81, of Ridley Park, died September 11, 2011 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Votta has lived in Ridley Park for the past 48 years.

Mr. Votta was a graduate of St. Thomas More High School and St. Joseph's College, Class of 1966. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was employed as an accountant for Philadelphia Gas Works for over 35 years. After retirement he worked for the Borough of Ridley Park as a crossing guard and did accounting work for Our Lady of Fatima Church. He was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and Knights of Columbus #4518 Peace Council 4th Degree. Mr. Votta was also Treasurer of Ridley Park Borough and coached at the Ridley Park Boys Club, but most important was his dedication to his family and his loving wife of 60 years.

He was son of the late John and Theresa McLaughlin Votta, father of the late Ann Anders (Bruce) and brother of the late Louis and Robert Votta, and Marie McLaughlin.

Survivors: his wife of 60 years, Helen E. Dyer Votta, children Henry J. "Hank" Votta, Jr. (Gloria), John Votta (Patty), Helen Mary Cooney (Francis), Lori Walkowski (Tom), Alice Penny (Bill), Arthur Votta (Ann), Sally Smith (Mike), Brian Votta (Anne Marie) and Teresa Langdale (Mike), his brother Richard Votta (Betty), also survived by 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass: 9:30 AM Thursday at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn Street and Morton Avenue, Ridley Park

Visitation: 6 to 9 PM Wednesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, PA 19078

Burial: Private
