Obituary

Henry Kazanes Sr., 84, a resident of Scranton, formerly of Greentown, died October 18, 2012 at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

His wife of 48 years, the late Mildred Bowden Kazanes, died Sept ember 10, 2004.

Born in Woodlyn, Pa, son of the late Ignatius and Hedwig Kahnowski Kazanes, he was a graduate of Ridley High School. He served with the United States Navy during the Korean War.

After his service with the Navy he worked at the Naval Ship yard in Philadelphia before being transferred the Tobyhanna Army Depot, where he was in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Department.

He was a member of the Taurus Club, Scranton. He was an avid fisherman and bowler and enjoyed golfing in many area leagues including one hosted by the Tobyhanna Army Depot.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a son Henry Jr., a sister Sophie Nolan; and two brothers Thomas and Alexander Kazanes.

Surviving are two daughters Mildred Musgrave and husband Ron, of Moscow, Martha Theresa Kazanes- Carliano and husband Alan of Melrose, Scotland; a son Jeffery Alexander Kazanes ofCape May, NJ; three grandchildren Tyler James Musgrave, Danielle Palumbo and husband Jeremy, Elena Kazanes; two great grandchildren Alexandria Palumbo, Rashelle Palumbo; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 1:00PM Friday, October 26, 2012 in the White-Luttrel Funeral Homes Ltd., 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Visitation after 12:00Noon. Burial Lawn Croft Cemetery.
