1923-2017


Helen Little, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on April 13, 2017 after a long illness. She was born September 1, 1923 in Chester, PA, the sixth of nine children of Michael and Anastasia Mutro. Helen was raised and educated in Chester.


In 1943, she moved to New York City, working for the Bulovia Watch Co., Revlon and later Nabisco. While in New York, Helen met her future husband, Donald, at a roller skating rink. After the birth of her children, she became a full-time homemaker. Always a "hand-on" Mom, Helen was very active in her daughters' school functions. Whether she was car pooling kids to school, creating costumes for a pageant or attending PTA meetings, Helen could always be counted on to get involved.


During retirement, she traveled with her husband to yearly Naval ship reunions. An admirer of nature, Helen enjoyed the change of seasons and keeping watch over her backyard birds. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and spoiling her granddaughters.


Helen was a member of Our Lady of Peace parish for 60 years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who was always very thoughtful and caring to family and friends. With quiet wisdom, Helen led by example. Those who were fortunate to have been a part of her life, will always miss her.


Helen was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Donald Little and her son, Donald Robert Little.


She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Jones (Jon) and Donna Belk (Bill); granddaughters, Amanda and Kimberly Jones; and many nieces and nephews.


Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 200 Milmont Avenue, Milmont Park, PA 19033


Visitation: 9:00-10:15 AM Wednesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078.
