Obituary

Helen M. Hickey (nee Brownlee), 93 of Ridley Park died on November 15, 2024.  Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Morgan Brownlee, she lived in Upper Darby before moving to Ridley Park 70 years ago.
Helen was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls, class of 1949.  Before her retirement she had been employed as a Bus Aide for the Ridley School District and had previously been employed in the Sheriff's Office in Delaware County.  Helen was a member of the Church of St. Madeline and the Ridley Seniors and enjoyed playing pinochle, bingo and going to the casinos.  She was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, but most important was her loving and devoted family.
She was the loving wife of the late Roy D. Hickey, Sr., mother of David J. Hickey (Shelley), Carol A. Fortunato (Michael), Deborah H. Jaskot (William) and the late Roy D. Hickey, Jr., Suzanne Sweeney, Thomas M. "Turtle" Hickey and Dianne McCollum, mother-in-law of Sherry Hickey and Linda Hickey, sister-in-law of Jerry Mayberry, she was predeceased by six siblings and is survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friend may call 9:00 to 10:15 AM.  Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
