Helen R. Garrity, 87, of Media, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at Little Flower Manor.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph J. and Ella Armstrong Garrity.
Helen was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School for Girls, Class of 1956. She began her career with the Pennsylvania Railroad and devoted 44 years to the railroad industry before retiring from CSX Transportation. Her dedication, loyalty, and strong work ethic defined a career she was proud to call her own.
A faithful member of St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, Helen found great joy in volunteering at Camilla Hall. She loved challenging herself with crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time at the beach. Above all, she treasured every moment with her family. Her kindness, quiet strength, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Helen is survived by her sister, Peggy Garrity,, her brother, William J. Garrity; and many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Bunting, and her brothers, Joseph W. Garrity and John B. Garrity.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, 200 S. Oak Ave., Primos, PA 19018, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camilla Hall, 100 Maxis Drive, Malvern, PA 19355 or St. Eugene's Catholic Church 110 S Oak Lane, Primos, PA 19018
