Harry Swayngim Sr., 88, of Aston PA, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 6th, 2018.

He was born on February 1st, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA. He was a long-time resident of Sharon Hill, PA, until he moved to Aston in 2005 with his wife Ruth, daughter Carolyn, her husband Leon and their two children Rebecca and Lee.

Harry served in the United States Army, worked for United Airlines from 1958 until 1984 and Georgeo's Water Ice upon his retirement in 2004.

Harry was known for his love of life, humor, and determination. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, watching westerns, and spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, by his friends and family.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Ann Henry Swayngim, his parents Fred and Ruth Baker Swayngim, his twin sister Marie O'Neill, his siblings William Swayngim Sr., Emma Evans, Elizabeth Jane Hartley, and Fred Swayngim.

He is survived by his children Ruth A. Norbeck (Robert), Harry Swayngim Jr. (Carol), George Swayngim (Debbie), Carolyn DiValerio (Leon), his sister Vida May Gallagher; also, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Harry's life will be held at 6PM on Monday, January, 15, 2018 at the Brookhaven Community Center, 2 Cambridge Rd, Brookhaven, PA 19015 where friends may call from 4 to 5:45PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Harry's memory to the Avon Grove Lion's Foundation, c/o Avon Grove Lion's Club is 600 North Baker Station Road, West Grove, PA 19390.
