Obituary

Harry E. Schmidt 85 of Norwood died May 25, 2015 at Little Flower Manor. Born in Folsom, Harry lived in Norwood for the past 21 years.

He first worked at his Dad's Gas Station in Swarthmore and then was a carpenter for Seal & Turner, Arters Brothers, Contemporary Village and then the Ridley School District where he retired in June 1994.

He was the Recipient of the Purple Heart with 1 Bronze Star, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Harry was a member of VFW Post 7213 in Norwood and Herbert W. Best VFW Post 928 in Folsom.

He enjoyed Special Friends at McDonald's Coffee Group in Holmes and the Dinner Group at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park.

He was inducted into Ridley Township Old Timers Hall of Fame in 2003.

He was husband of the late Frances M. Smith Schmidt who died in 1991; son of the late Paul and Anna May Miller Schmidt and brother of the late Paul Schmidt (late Dorothy), Norman Schmidt, Ann Ruark (late Clyde) and Maria Bruton (late William).

Harry is survived by his son David M. Feeley (Mary Jane), sister Barbara Muhlhauser (Robert); grandchildren Emily Witherington (David) and Colleen Oliveras (Scott); his sister in law Lois Schmidt; also nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 10:30AM Monday, June 1, 2015 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 9:30AM. Burial Edgewood Memorial Park.
