Harry Banks Briley, 87, of Holly Hill, FL, died May 13, 2012.
Born in Kennett Square, he was son of the late John and Edna Currie Briley and lived in Ridley Park and Palm Coast, FL before moving to his late residence.
He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving in Ireland and England and the invasion of Normandy and Germany. Mr. Briley received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze stars and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a former member of the Church of St. Madeline.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Phyllis Hood Briley; his children Christin Nicole, Dr. Margaret Briley, Phyllis Briley-Geiser (Allen) and David Briley; his brothers Francis Briley (Betty) and Colonel Howard Briley, Ret. (Michelle); his sister Louise Gamble and also five grandchildren and one greatgrandson.
Funeral Mass 10:30AM Saturday, May 26, 2012 at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park.
Visitation: 9:15AM to 10:15AM Saturday at the Church. Burial will be private in Washington Crossing Veteran Cemetery.
