Harriet T. Thompson Lawson, 81, of Garnet Valley died March 22 at Chester Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. Born in Linwood, Pa., she lived in Aston Township for 25 years and Cape May Beach, N.J., for five years before moving to her late residence in 1988.
A homemaker, she formerly worked for the E.I. DuPont Co. in Wilmington and was a nursing home employee. A graduate of Ridley Park High School, she was a former soprano soloist in weddings, choirs and the DuPont Chorus. She was a member of the Aston Athletic Association Ladies Auxiliary for 10 years. She received several awards from both the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association for heading fundraising drives in Aston. She was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Marcus Hook. She loved animals, especially her cats.
She was the wife of the late William J. "Bud" Lawson, daughter of the late George W. and Jean MacFadyen Thompson, mother of the late Scott M. and William J. Lawson III and sister of the late Alex Thompson.
