Harold B. Kelley, 81 of Glen Mills, died March 28, 2011 at home.
Born in Coatesville, PA he lived in the Swarthmorewood section of Ridley Township for 51 years before moving to Glen Mills, five years ago.
He was a Senior Railroad Tank Car Coordinator for Sun Oil Refinery in Marcus Hook for 38 years, until retiring in 1988.
Mr. Kelley was a member of Crozerville United Methodist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran and a volunteer at the American Red Cross.
He played bass guitar and was lead singer for several musical groups, including the Woodland String Band, The Four Beats, Hal Kelley Quartet, State Street Orchestra , Cape May County String Band and the R.S.V.P. Band.
Mr. Kelley was son of the late Edwin and Hopeful Sloan McHenry Kelley and brother of the late Dorothy Clevenger, and Edwin, Robert, Donald and Jack Kelley.
Survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan M. Walker Kelley, children Linda Papa (Ralph, Jr.), Stephen Kelley (Eleni), Patricia DiRusso (John) and Michael Kelley (Gene LaPierre), sister Betty Hodgson, brothers James, Ernest and Norman Kelley, grandchildren Ralph Papa, III (Candace), Mark Papa and Matthew Papa, Lisa Marie DiRusso, Joe DiRusso and Dimitri Papadoulos and great-grandson Ralph Papa, IV.
Funeral Service 11:00AM Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Crozerville United Methodist Church, 673 Mount Rd., Aston, PA 19014 where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:45AM. Burial private.
