Grant W. Ward, 94, a lifelong resident of Ridley Park died on September 20, 2023.  Born in Chester, he was the son of the late William and Helen Auer Ward.
Grant was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1947 and had served in the Navy Reserves.  He was employed as a Process Engineering Technician at the Sun Oil Company before retiring in 1984.  Grant was a member of The Church of St. Madeline, American Legion Post #43 and the New Life/Ridley Park Seniors.  He enjoyed visiting the Veterans Museum in Media, Irish and Celtic music, working on computers, traveling, woodworking, building furniture and Facetiming his children and grandchildren.  Grant also enjoyed working with his family to research geneology and to create his family tree.
He was the loving husband of the late Rita Joyce Baptiste Ward, devoted father of Deborah Ward, Dennis Ward (Mariann), Kevin Ward (Teri) and the late Grant W. Ward, Jr., father-in-law of Mary Ward, grandfather of Ann Kathryn Ward and Megan Victoria, great-grandfather of Chase Everett Laite and Austin William Laite, he was also the brother of the late William and Gerald Ward.
Funeral Mass 10 AM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9 to 9:45 AM.  Burial Holy Cross Cemetery.
