Gloria Ann Carpency Truax-Herbst, 74, of Ridley Park died January 20, 2018 at her home. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Regina Ocelus Carpency and resided in Ridley Park for 45 years.

Gloria was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School, class of 1961 and attended Delaware County Community College. She was employed by the Dept. of Navy as an administrative Assistant at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard before retiring in 1995. Gloria also worked at the Ridley Park Public Library and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ridley Park. She volunteered at the Taylor Hospital Gift Shop and Meals on Wheels. Gloria loved gardening, flowers and animals, especially her cats. Gloria's family extends a special thank you to Angel Care Companion and Taylor Hospice.

Gloria was predeceased by her second husband, Walter Truax, who died April 15, 1997; her third husband, Ronald A. Herbst, who died May 30, 2009; and her sister, Nancy Berue.

She was the mother of Erika A. Harris; grandmother of Paige Machelle Camp, Donavan Matthew Pomarico and Benjamin Laurence John Gidley; also, survived by her former husband, Lawrence J. Render.
