Gloria R. Farrell Sandusky 89, a longtime resident of Ridley Park, died on November 24, 2016 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Gloria was born in South Philadelphia on April 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Lillian and John Farrell.
She was a 1945 graduate of Hallahan High School and attended nursing school. After high school, she worked at Whitman's Chocolate Factory and Domino Sugar, both in Philadelphia.
Gloria was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Herbert W. Best VFW Post 928 and she enjoyed traveling, reading and entertaining. She and her husband traveled extensively in Europe, Central American and the Bahamas. She was a devoted mother, daughter and friend.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, John Farrell and Joseph Farrell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James M. Sandusky, Sr.; sons, James M. Jr. (Janine), Dennis (Rebecca); her daughter Patricia Tokarczyk (Justyn); two grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Sr. Carmela, R.S.M., many nieces and nephews, and Charlene McGarrigle, who was like a daughter to her.
Visitation 7 to 9PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 and 8:30 to 9:15AM Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA.
Funeral Mass 10AM Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA.
Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
