Obituary

Gloria J. Chukonis Gallagher 86 of Ridley Park died October 2, 2015.

She was born in Wilkes Barre and has lived in Ridley Park for 59 years. Gloria last worked at Taylor Hospital and previously was a Teller at Elmwood Savings and Loan Association.

She was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and the Ridley Seniors. She was honored for an essay she wrote by the Daughters of the American Republic.

Gloria was a loving mother and devoted wife who enjoyed bingo, casinos, game shows and reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren and she always put others before herself.


Gloria was the wife of the late Edward J. Gallagher, her husband of 34 years, who died in 1984; mother of the late Anthony Phillip Gallagher; daughter of the late Felix A. and Anastasia Vinscavage Chukonis and sister of the late Robert Chukonis, John Chukonis, Eleanor Liscavage and Dorothy McGraw.


She is survived by her children; Eileen Romanzo, Kathy Gallagher, Laureen Bisaccia (Joe), Michael Gallagher (Kim) and Heather Wilson (David); her brother Richard Chukonis (Marian); also 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.


Funeral Mass 11:00AM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call 9:45 to 10:45AM.

Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
