Gloria Jean Borland Burke, 85, of Ridley Park died peacefully December 28, 2013 at her home. Born in Chester, daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine Welsh Burke, she had been a resident of Ridley Park for 54 years.

Gloria was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1946 and was a member of the Church of St. Madeline. She was last employed by the Delaware County Tuberculosis Association for 10 years. Gloria enjoyed warm nights sitting on her patio watching for hummingbirds, gold finches and listening for the sound of geese overhead. She loved Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and her Phillies, especially Chooch. Gloria had a heart of gold and was a wonderful listener who truly cared about what you had to say. Most important to her was her family and dear friends. She was a loving caregiver to all of us her entire life.

She was wife of the late James D. Burke who died June 25, 1990 after 31 years of marriage, and sister of the late Raymond Borland, Jr., Bruce Borland, Roberta Goodman and Betty Jane Hansch.

Survivors: mother of Patricia D. Burke-Karr (Rob) and Brian J. Burke (Peggy), proud grandmother of Michelle, Brian, Lisa, Chris (Samantha) and Amanda (Rob), great-grandmother of Robbie and Emmalynne, also survived by her daily companion "Bella", nieces, nephews and dear close friends .
