Giovanna "Joan" C. Scola went home to be with her family and the Lord on February 8, 2021. Joan was born on June 24, 1932 in South Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of Pasquale and Anna Babore; sister to Julia Versino, Rita Pino and Anthony Babore; and wife of Giulio "Bert" U. Scola, her husband of 46 years, who died December 3, 1999.
Joan and Bert spent many happy years in Southwest Philly with their dog, Princess, and they were exceptional dancers. She had a long bookkeeping career at Sun Oil, followed by another career at a local dentist's office.
Joan's committed faith to God and her family was evident daily. She faithfully attended St. Madeline's Church in Ridley Park. Joan was a shining light and example of what it means to love and serve unconditionally. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, and baking. Many memorable family vacations were spent in Sea Isle City. Joan's vibrant involvement with the Ridley Park Senior Center did not go unnoticed. Her mischievous and fun-loving personality kept everyone laughing and her willingness to listen, her laugh and the way she loved all us will be missed.
Joan and her sister, Rita, had a bond that was unbreakable. They are now rejoicing in heaven together, along with their other siblings.
Joan is survived by many nieces and nephews.
