Gerhard A. Bunde, 84


Of Brookhaven, died December 14, 2010 at his home. Born in Borsdorf, Kreis, Grimma Germany son of the late Ernst Heinrich and Edith Eugenie Bunde.


While in Germany he served in the navy during World War II, and was in Officers training on the Gorg Fock training vessel. Mr. Bunde came to the USA in 1955 and settled in Philadelphia where he worked for the German Embassy and has lived in Brookhaven for the past 45 years. He was a purchasing supervisor for Schafer's Canal House for 25 years retiring in 2006, he previously owned and operated Bunde Kitchen in Brookhaven. Mr. Bunde enjoyed collecting World War II memorabilia and working in his garden. Not having biological children Gerhard took great pride in being involved with other's children by driving them to athletic events, the airport and other necessary places. Mr. Bunde was husband of the late Adelina Knodel Bunde who died August 2, 2010.


Funeral Service: 11 AM Tuesday, at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Road, Aston. where friends may call after 10AM.


Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery
