Gerald J. Axel, 87, of Wallingford, died January 16, 2015 at Taylor Hospice Residence. Born in Sheboygan, WI, he was the son of the late Walter and Viola Gottard Axel and resided in Parkside before moving to his late residence in 1961.

Jerry served in the US Navy during WWII and was employed as an engineer for Unisys Computer. He loved golfing, bowling, gardening and was devoted to his loving wife and family.

Jerry was the husband of Marie P. Ivers, his wife of 61 years; brother-in-law of Kitty I. Lewis; uncle of Patrick Lewis (Dottie); and great uncle of Patrick R. Lewis and Dorey M. Lewis.

Private services were held on Friday, January 23, 2015 with the burial at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
