Obituary
George T. Clifton III, "Cliff", 72, formerly of Chester and Woodlyn, passed away on May 26, 2015 at Taylor Hospital with his loving wife of 53 years by his side. George was the devoted husband to Judith D. (Heisner) Clifton. He was predeceased by his loving parents, George T. Clifton Jr. and Vivian Clifton and his brother Joseph Clifton.
George was a graduate of the St. James High School in Chester, PA and a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he served with honor. Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Navy George went to work for Scott Paper (now Kimberly Clark) for 40 years before retiring in 2005. George was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1521 where he served on various posts.
He was also an active member of the Sun Village Sports Club and held various positions on the board. George was also a founding member of the Moose Organization. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his four sons in of Tioga County hunting deer. He also loved spending time at the Chester Sportsmen Club in Asaph, PA where he was an active member and enjoyed many laughs and solving the Camp problems at the big table.
George enjoyed watching his sons play sports and was often seen on the sidelines supporting his sons, grandsons and the referees. George was loved by family and friends for his calming and peaceful "way with words". George was a Husband, Father, Brother, Poppy, Uncle and friend to many people who will miss him dearly. George's life has impacted many people and he will not be forgotten.
Along with his loving wife Judith, George is survived by his sister, Doreen Clifton, Children Patrick (Denise), Kevin (Christine), Christopher (Mary Beth), Sean (Kristin) Clifton and 10 adoring grandchildren.
The family would like to invite friends and family to a Life Celebration, 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the White Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends may call from 12-1:45 AM.
