Genevieve Giantonio, 91, of Ridley Township, died March 30, 2013. Born in Chester, PA, she was a long time resident of Delaware County, graduating from Ridley High School in 1939 where she was a Raiders cheerleader and also played on the girls' basketball team. "Jennie" was known for her generosity, enthusiasm for life, love for dancing, and for being a compassionate and giving person who volunteered wherever she could. Throughout her early years of adulthood, she worked for the Ford Motor and Bell Telephone Companies. She learned how to use sign language so she could communicate to the children she commuted to and from the Philadelphia School for the Deaf. She later worked for a home care nursing corporation, serving as a caregiver to those in need.

Jennie was a loyal and dedicated member of Resurrection Life Church in Upland, PA, where she served as a deaconess and also served in part-time missionary work in Belize, Central America. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes.

She was the daughter of the late Katherine and WWI Veteran John Kozak.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Dr. Donna Giantonio of Springfield, Marie Miller of Middletown, Tina Giantonio-Russo of Middletown, and sons, John Giantonio of Parkside and Joseph Giantonio of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 11 AM Saturday at the Woodlyn Baptist Church, 1125 MacDade Blvd, Woodlyn, PA

VISITATION: 7 to 9 PM Friday, April 12, at White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078 and 9:30 to 11 AM Saturday at the church.
