Frederic F. "Tex" Basara, 81, of Chester died suddenly on January 9, 2013. Tex was an unassuming, kind and gentle man beloved by all who knew him. He never asked a favor but was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a devout Catholic, but also respected and was welcome to many other denominations of worship throughout Chester and Delaware County. Tex was known to enjoy the casinos and trying his luck betting on the ponies.
Tex was retired from Congoleum where he was employed a Blansher for 25 years, and had previously worked at the Chester Bridgeport Ferry. He was U.S. Navy Veteran and was a 25 year member of American Legion Post #546 in Chester.
Fred was son of the late Kasper and Julia Czapka Basara and was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors: brother of Bruno Basara, brother-in-law of Rita, also survived by many nieces, nephews and an uncounted number of friends.
