Korean War Veteran
Francis X. "Butch" Clifton, 78, died December 14, 2011 at his home. Born in Chester, Mr. Clifton has lived in Crum Lynne for the past 52 years.
Mr. Clifton was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a First Class Turbiner at Sun Oil Co. in Marcus Hook for 44 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, the Sun Oil – Marcus Hook Refinery Bowling League and was a member of American Legion Post #777 Crum Lynne where he was a Past Commander.
He was husband of the late Catherine L. Haynie Clifton who died September 11, 2005 after 49 years of marriage, son of the late George T. and Elizabeth M. Foley Clifton, brother of the late George T. and William T. Clifton, also grandfather of the late Michael W. Ryan.
Survivors: his children; Cathy F. Markowitz (Dale), Danny W. Clifton, Karen E. Clifton, Colleen M. Ryan (Willy), Regina A. DiGiacomo (Domenic) and Michael F. Clifton (Kathie), brother of Kathleen E. Manchin (Walter) and Regina M. Clifton. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass: 10 AM Monday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Chester Pike and Simpson Street, Eddystone
Visitation: 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA and 9 to 9:45 AM Monday at the church.
Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery
