Obituary

Francis J. "Skeeter" Batter, 86 of Aston, passed away on February 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Skeeter was born and raised in Cumbola, PA. In 1943 he moved to Chester where he met his "Girl" Dorothy Yarina. They were married for 64 years and blessed with three children. Skeeter was a World War II Naval veteran, and worked at US General Steel, General Motors, Hastings Chevrolet, Aston Glass Shop and the US Post Office as a mail carrier for 28 years in Garden City. He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph for 61 years.

Skeeter loved and cherished his family and friends as they did him. He lived his life to the fullest; was an avid traveler, softball, golf and card player and was a crossword puzzle extraordinaire.

He was son of the late Adele and Anthony Batter and brother of the late Leonard Batter and Joan Schmidt.

Skeeter is survived by and will be missed by his loving wife Dorothy Yarina Batter; his children Ron (Mary), James (Maria) and Mary Lou Pierson (Larry); his brother Robert Batter; also eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass 11:00AM Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Rd. Aston. Visitation 9:15 to 10:15AM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
