Francis P. "Frank" McDermott, 81, of Swarthmore, died January 21, 2015 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Sea Isle City, NJ before moving to his late residence in 2005. Frank was an Accountant in the Defense Department for the U.S. Government for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He graduated from St. Thomas Moore High School, in 1951 and also St. Joseph College, in 1965 with a BS in Accounting.

Frank was a member of St. John Chrysostom R.C. Church and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a volunteer at St. Joseph's, attended Men of Malvern, was an avid golfer and established a sailing program in Sea Isle City.

He was son of the late Charles and Margaret Dolan McDermott and brother of the late Charles McDermott, Jr.

Frank was the loving husband of Arlene M. Burke McDermott; father of John D. McDermott and Francis Patrick McDermott, Jr., M.D. (Lori); brother of Sr. Rose McDermott, S.S.J., JCD and Sr. Margaret McDermott, S.S.J.; grandfather of John F. McDermott (Heidi) and Jodi O'Neill (Francis); great grandfather of Frank, John and Delia O'Neill.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. John Chrysostom R.C. Church, 617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, where friends may call 10:00 to 10:45AM.

Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery
