Francis T. Benson Jr., of Ridley Park, PA. Son of Francis T. Benson Sr (1927–1995) and Alice D. Benson (Otruba; 1930–2017) passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022. Frank was born on March 1,1955 at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, Darby PA.
A Celebration of Life will take place this Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Stingers restaurant in Ridley Park from 12-3 PM. All are welcome.
Frank graduated from Ridley High School in 1973 and played on the Lacrosse Team during the early club years and first official year in 73'. He went on to earn a BS in Nursing from Newman college. However, Frank's True Love was being an Old-Fashioned Butcher. A trade which he first started at the age of 14 or 15 at Pike Cold Cuts on Chester Pike in Ridley Park. Over Frank's career he worked at multiple venues and became store manager at various Colonial Village markets in the Delaware County and Philadelphia footprints. But by Far Franks most Fond place of employment was at Roy Tweedy's Old Fashioned Butcher Shop on MacDade Blvd in Ridley TWP where he worked multiple times over the last 30 years. Frank truly loved his trade.
Frank enjoyed hobbies of wood working, camping and endless, pointless conversations.
Frank is survived by his children Michael G., Brittany A., Marc T., Bradley A., and Gianna N. Gianna in her last conversation with her father was able to tell him which college she has chosen, Rosemont College.
Frank is also survived by seven brothers and sisters, John, Tom, Matt, Judith, Lisa, Anna (Small) and Michael J. He is also survived by his Best Friend of 60+ years, Greg O'Brien.
Again, a celebration of life will take place this Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Stingers restaurant in Ridley Park from 12–3 p.m., all are welcome.
