Frances E. Weidner Scarbrough, 85 of Ridley Park, formerly of Upper Darby, died July 16, 2011 at Taylor Hospital.
Mrs Scarbrough was a graduate of Upper Darby High School, Class of 1943 and had a long career as a legal secretary with several law firms in Philadelphia and Delaware County.
Frances was a long-time parish member of the Church of St. Madeline where she did volunteer work including helping to run the school library and assisting in fund raising efforts for the parish. She also served on the Mothers' Guild at Archmere Academy for several years.
A devoted mother and homemaker, she loved spending time with family members.
Survivors: her husband of 56 years, Chauncey D. Scarbrough, sons Paul H. Scarbrough of Norwalk, CT, Carl W. Scarbrough (Derek) of Boston, MA and Eric T. Scarbrough (Kathleen H.) of Wading River, NY, her brother Thomas J. Weidner of Ridley Park, also her grandchildren Sean M., Sarah E., Emily F. and Rachel A. Scarbrough, all of Wading River, NY.
Funeral Mass 10:00AM Thursday at the Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park.
Visitation Wednesday 7 to 9PM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.
Burial private.
