Obituary

Fiore "Chick" Peticca, 96 of Ridley Township died on August 29, 2025. Born in Chester, PA as one of nine, the son of the late Marco and Rosa (Capasso) Peticca, he lived and served in Ridley Township for most of his life.

Fiore or "Chick" as most called him, served honorably during World War II. He worked in vending mechanics for 31 years and built a life for his family in Ridley Township. Fiore served as First Ward Township Commissioner for 32 years where he passionately advocated building park playgrounds for children in each of his precincts and later, a bridge reconstruction project over Stoney Creek on S. Swarthmore Ave. He was a member of the Ridley Township zoning board for six years and spent the later part of his career developing and running the Delaware County Solid Waste Authority. Fiore was always willing to help anyone who was in need. He enjoyed time with his family, his many beloved animals and as he got older, his cherished grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Lavina E. Peticca (Rumford), his daughter Nikki Peticca-Melso, his son in law Robert Melso, his granddaughter Nicole DyAnn Melso, and his grandson Alexander Robert Melso. He will be missed by countless friends and those we consider family.

A Celebration of Life for Fiore "Chick" Peticca was privately held on September 5th, 2025.

Memorial gifts to Delaware Valley Doberman Pinscher Assistance c/o Sharon Schiele, 357 Third Ave, Phoenixville PA 19460 would be greatly appreciated.
