Eugene T. "Gene" Layer, 72, of Ridley Park, died November 24, 2012 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Charles A. and Edna M. Brennan Layer, Eugene lived in Southwest Philadelphia prior to moving
to his late residence 50 years ago.He was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and was employed by Laymac Asphalt Maintenance, retiring in 2005. Gene was an avid fisherman and played pool with several leagues in Delaware County.

Survivors: his longtime loving companion, Joan Hickman, brother of Charles J. Layer (Joyce) and Thomas J. Layer (Frances-Anne), also three nephews and two nieces.

Funeral Mass: 10 AM Thursday at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park
Visitation: 8:30 to 9:15 AM Thursday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park
