Eugene D. Rockett, 89, of Springfield, died on May 15, 2026. Born in Eddystone, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Rockett, née Neilan. He had lived in Cape May before moving to Springfield 25 years ago.
Eugene was a graduate of Eddystone High School, Class of 1955, and attended Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University). He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War. Eugene was a member of American Legion Post 844 and St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church. Before his retirement in 1994, he was employed as a Senior Lab Technician at Scott Paper Company and had previously worked for Sun Oil Company.
Eugene was active in the Eddystone Boys Club/Family Center and coached the Eddystone Little League baseball team to an 18–0 season. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and traveling, and he loved spending summers at his home in Wildwood.
He was the husband of the late Barbara A. Rockett, née Schlossnagle, and Kathleen M. Rockett, née McGuinnes; brother of the late Lawrence Rockett and the late George Rockett; father of Tracey Rockett, Barbara Marshall (the late William David), and David Rockett; grandfather of Nathaniel Rockett-Quinn and Corinne Marshall; and great-grandfather of Makayli Marshall.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, where relatives and friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
