Eugene W. Rand 90 of Media, formerly of Folsom died on June 9, 2023 at his home.

Born in Boothwyn to the late Chester E. and Alice Twaddell Rand, Eugene lived in Folsom before moving to his last residence two years ago.

He was last employed as a machinist for Cobra Machine Shop, retiring in 1996 and previously worked at Westinghouse Corporation for 31 years.

Eugene was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany. He enjoyed fishing, boating and the beach.

He was originally a member of Chester Masonic Lodge #236 and Concord Lodge and was a 60-year member of Penn Lodge #709, F&AM.

Most important to him was his loving wife, children, grand and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Bertha E. Dunning Rand; his children Cathleen M. Shugarts (Robert) of North Carolina and Richard A. Rand(Cynthia) of Maryland; five grandchildren (Keith Shugarts (Leia), Craig Shugarts (Joy), Melissa Niehoff (Peter) , Stacie Rand (Gavin Houseman), and Ryan Rand) and five great grandchildren.

Eugene was father of the late Eugene W. Rand, Jr. who died in 1995.
