Erin Leah McDermott

Erin Leah McDermott, 38 of Essington died on February 9, 2026 at her mother's home. Born in Upland, Erin grew up in Swarthmorewood and lived there before moving to Essington five years ago.

Erin was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, class of 2005 and received a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from West Chester University. For the past five years, Erin was employed as a Senior Marketing Manager at Lexis Nexis Reed Technology. She was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church and loved music, animals and traveling. Erin was also an avid reader and loved all of the Philadelphia sports teams. She enjoyed camping and going on day trips, but most important was her family, especially her four siblings.

She was the loving daughter of the Karen K. Slackway McDermott and the late John J. "Jack" McDermott, sister of John J. McDermott, Jr., Ryan J. McDermott, Nicholas C. McDermott and Emily Rose McDermott, she was predeceased by her fiancée David MacIntosh and is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Visitation 6-8 PM Friday, February 13, 2026 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park and 9:30 to 10:15 AM Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, 990 Fairview Rd., Swarthmore where a Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
